Magellan 800, BA2 115-3SLT, BA2 210-3STR
Tony Vasary picked up the bass at the age of 16, inspired by his close friendship with brothers Niko and Seb Ar Beleg. His passion for the instrument led him to countless hours of dedicated practice before forming his first band with Niko, Pictured (melodic death metal).
As his journey evolved, Tony collaborated with a variety of musicians, ultimately joining Gengis (thrash death metal). With the group, he recorded his first demo and later their album Down To a Sunless Sea.
Pursuing music professionally, Tony went on to share the stage with Xavier Quémet (Bounty Hunter) and Ian Proërer (Red Cardell) in the hard rock cover band What a Mess!—a project that has kept him performing full-time since 2019. Building on this momentum, he and Xavier founded the southern rock outfit Gunsmoke Brothers Band, joined by the Ar Beleg brothers and drummer Thibault Menut. After a successful tour, the band released their debut album Band of Brothers in 2024, with a follow-up, Ballad of a Desperado, slated for 2026.
In addition to these projects, Tony continues to stay active in multiple bands, lending his groove and creativity to both original compositions and diverse cover projects across genres.
On Genzler Amplification
For a long time I had been using my old Fender, unbreakable but it is very heavy and I needed to find a lighter solution for the future with of course a better sound. That’s when I saw Genzler with Nate Navarro. After learning about the equipment thanks to him, and Andy Irvine’s videos, I was immediately seduced by the principle of Bass Array cabinets. I bought the Magellan 800 and the BA2 115-3SLT + BA2 210-3STR cabinets. I was very surprised by the clarity and neutrality of this head. Without doing anything, it sounds magnificent! It perfectly reproduces what you send it, your instrument, and your playing. No cheating. The contour knob allows you to give 2 colors to your sound, and more by using the equalization! The cabinets are a marvel both visually and in their design, light, powerfull, punchy and reactive sound, lots of clarity to break through the mix, and hear yourself perfectly on stage thanks also to the inclination of the BA2 115-3SLT. It’s a dream come true! Your way of playing is the main thing as a musician, and with Genzler, there is something magical that makes you rediscover and sublimate yourself. Let’s play !
