These great sounding cabinets are tuned and ported to reproduce the depth and clarity of any bass instrument, with tight low-end support, vocal, mid-range definition, and available top-end shimmer. The MG-ULV cabs are all vertical designs, with a minimal stage footprint, and are constructed from a new ultra-light, multi-layer, poplar plywood, for its warmth, density and strength, and all cabinets feature full internal acoustic dampening.
AT 19.5 lbs, the MG-ULV-112T is one of the lightest, most compact 1 x 12” cabinets on the market. Constructed from new 12mm ultra-light plywood, this cab delivers its full-body response with modern, yet classic styling. The vertical design helps to keep the dispersion “off the floor” and providing a taller projection pattern. The distinctive front triangular ports provide an optimum porting design as well as adding structural strength in the corners of the cabinet, delivering the durability of wood construction and an efficient cabinet design. A comfortable edge-mounted bar handle is used at the top and back of the cabinet, for easy “one-hand” carry. Mounting bolts on the top panel are also provided to accept the MG-350-CRADLE for attaching the MG-350 amp to make this info a compact, high-output bass combo.

When my old workhorse gigging combo finally bit the dust, I needed a new combo with a cab that that was light enough to hand carry from my car to my gig a few blocks away, was loud enough to be heard over a drummer, and that sounded GREAT on both upright and electric bass. This cab meets all those qualifications and then some! Paired with a Magellan 350 it makes a killer small combo. Genzler really has made a killer piece of lightweight gear that doesn’t compromise sound for convenience. Looking forward to many happy years with the ULV-112T!

I recently purchased a pair of MG-ULV-112T cabinets, and I am over the moon pleased with the quality and sound of these cabs! Once again, Mr. Genzler listened to what bassists needed and hit the nail on the head. I played a pair of MG112T-V cabinets (the predecessor to the ULV cabs) for years, and the ULV112T is just as loud, low and clear while losing several pounds and having a smaller footprint. For the smaller, tight stages that I play on the vertical orientation and small footprint are just what I need. I’ve used the pair of cabs indoors and outdoors with no PA support, and the rig delivers every time.
The schlep is so easy…I can carry one cabinet in each hand into the venue and not break a sweat. and the convenience of attaching the MG350 to one of the cabinets makes set up and tear down so easy. I’ve also used the new MG800+ with these cabs, and that takes this rig to another level! I recently picked up the ULV210T, and I’ll comment more on that after I’ve gigged it a couple of times.

I bought a Genzler Magellan-ULV-112T a few months after getting a ULV-212T. I’m a convert to the “two-is-better” crowd, but noticed the 212 was pushing a bit too much air in my small home studio. As I was also addicted to the fabulous Genzler sound, I decided to try the smaller ULV-112T and was knocked away by this tiny locomotive.
Not sure why I was surprised but the 112 sounds exactly like its big brother. The one exception was the physics of the bigger cab had more natural presence. I use Kinetix 800 and Magellan 800 amps, and found that boosting the bass knob to 1:30 or so dialed a very close sense of the bigger cab’s natural presence. The smaller cab is a perfect match for the room size, and I’ve also discovered is more than adequate for generating bass in smaller venues like band practice, bars, restaurants, etc. Last night I gigged this in Cincinnati’s second-oldest bar (opened in 1895!). It’s a typical bar room and even filled with people, I had to turn down the volume a bit for balanced, clear low-tone.
Apart from its wonderful sound, the ULV-112T brings ergonomic benefits that are just as important. At a mere 19.5 pounds, this little beast weighs half of a typical 112. I still can’t get over how easy it is to pick up with the well-placed grab bar. And it’s a small box! The ULV-112T is so small, I can squeeze it into the back of my pickup truck’s cab without having to move the passenger seat out of the way (and the seat is mostly slid back). Quick-and-slick transfers without hassle. The small size and weight also bring another benefit: moving gig gear is an easy one hand roll. As shown in the photo, the cab, gig bag, and amp fill just 2/3 of a small folding cart. I can easily bump this down steps (like the three outside my house door) or pull up steps (like the three steps in front of last night’s gig entry)–all with just ONE hand. That leaves the other to navigate railings or wave to music fans.
If observations like these tick the boxes on your shopping list, I encourage you to give the ULV-112T a try. It’s a solid winner for me!
