The Next Generation in Classic Tone Lightweight Cabinets
BACK IN STOCK — JULY 25, 2024
GENZLER® AMPLIFICATION is proud to announce the addition of the NU CLASSIC series of compact, lightweight bass cabinets, delivering classic tone and warm full-spectrum response. Along with our “boutique” modern take on classic/vintage cabinet styling, these 3 new models feature advanced lightweight construction, compact vertical designs, and “specially-designed” Ferrite/Ceramic magnet low frequency driver formats and our compression tweeter, infused with Ferro-fluid for extended power and smooth response.
This combination of component selection, ported cabinet design and construction techniques combine to deliver the sought-after performance and feel of Ferrite/Ceramic loudspeakers in a lightweight cabinet “weight class” — normally associated with Neodymium speaker cabinets. We accomplish this utilizing our “tried and true” manufacturing principles, well-braced 12mm lite plywood construction, internal triangular “truss-style” side-to-back bracing, internal acoustic dampening, shelf-port designs with “softened” leading edges to deliver strong, powerful, low frequency support with less turbulence.
These more traditional Ferrite/Ceramic woofer and tweeter cabs offer a variety of tonal performance characteristics for every type of player–from smooth jazz, classic rock, heavy metal and all points in between. The NU CLASSIC series delivers warm response, from modern transparent clarity, smooth midrange character to classic growl.
The NC-212T is largest cab in the line, a vertical 2 x 12″ model delivering big low frequency, full-body response with a modern, yet classic style packed into this 44 lb package. The vertical design helps to keep the dispersion of the cabinet “off the floor” and providing a taller projection pattern.

This NC-212T is AMAZING. It is the best cab. I have ever used. The punch and definition of your attack are well defined and transparent. I use mine with the Genzler Magellan 800 head and it’s a match made in heaven. I play in a band with two loud guitar players and a heavy handed drummer and the NC-212T cuts right through like butter. I use a Musicman Bongo 6 string bass and the low B is supper tight with this cab. The mids and highs are perfectly balanced and focused. I have been playing bass for 45 yrs in 16 different bands and this is by far the best bass rig I have ever owned. I have played on many bands albums in the past and I can’t wait to record with this rig. The ease of being light and portable make is so easy to put in the car and go to the show. You just can’t go wrong with any of the Genzler products!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve been playing Genzler cabs for a while now and while my main rig is a BA 15-3 SLT + BA 210-3, I just had to try out the NC-212T when it was introduced this past summer and what can I say? This is a beast of a cabinet. It’s deep, punchy, and huge. I mostly play 5 string in a country band and this is the perfect complement for my tone when paired with my Magellan 800 head. It’s articulate across the entire range and yet has this beauitfully classic look and sound to it that just makes me smile. If you were to compare it to the bass array cabs, the NC-212T would be a classic musle car like a Boss 429 Mustang whereas the Bass Array is the equivalent of a modern day Corvette. They’re both beautiful in their own right with the NC-212T harkening back to a time of heavy iron and huge cabinets but at a weight and build quiality of modern standards. A formidable combination and one you should have at your disposal.

After using a number of different combinations of heads and cabinets I decided to dive into a Genzler Nu Classic 212T. Now I’ve been playing all types of venues clubbing in the NYC Metro area for over 40 years. I play rock music and my current gig is all Southern Rock in a 6 piece so there isn’t much “room” in our music for the Bass. I like some scoop, fat bottom and bright highs. I mostly play Low End basses with 18v pre-amp and round wound strings. Low End basses have tremendous definition and attack. As a side story, i have yet to find a mid-priced wireless system that can keep up with my bass. Smaller gigs rely on my backline for bass (say 75 peeps and under), bigger and outdoor venues get the sub so my gear is strictly back line. I ran the 212T this weekend as a stand alone in a 75 peep gig (house was full) driven by a Little Mark Rocker 500 and no pedals. Wow! This cabinet rocks! I had bass to spare and awesome tone in a lightweight, compact package. I particularly like that this is a vertical cabinet. The definition is precise and responsive. No problem transitioning from a punchy bass line played down on the bridge to some fat tones sliding up towards the neck without turning a dial. After all, most of our tone is in our fingers! I also use a Tech 21 Landmark 300 which truthfully gets better tone than the Mark but a little less definition and is like 40 times as heavy! Time to sell the Mesa Powerhouse 210 that couldn’t keep up.

The Nu Classic 212T is my first Genzler product. I made extensive comparisons with several big brand names, including Markbass, Ampeg, TC Electronic, Traynor, Rumble. I’ve chosen to keep my TC Electronic 550 head, and paired it with the 212T Nu Classic. Never have I heard my TC sound as clean as it does, with the Genzler cab. The Nu Classic 212T offers such a clean, rich, unfiltered sound. It allows me to run my rig with everything flat, at 12 oclock. The 212T is so responsive, I can hear subtle changes with simple variations on my bass EQ pre-amp. There’s no need to add anything with any bass head. The cab reproduces the actual tone of the instrument, with precision and accuracy. The only thing missing is a proper fitted cover for the 212T. There’s no question, Genzler has raised the bar on bass cabs. I’ve now chosen to go exclusive Genzler cabs. As a second bass amp, I will be shopping for a Magellan 350 next. The Line Array system is excellent, but far more than I really need, in an RnB Soul band. The Nu Classic 212T or the 210T are both excellent quality, head and shoulders above the rest. Even with the former Genz Benz technology being used in another brand name, the Genzler product is a BIG step forward!

The NC-212T is possibly the best bass cabinet I have ever used. I play blues and classic rock and this cab reproduces the classic sound perfectly. I have used it indoor and for larger outdoor gigs. The ceramic speakers are the “real deal”. I am very pleased. I use an Aguilar Tone Hammer 700 for power. I am 64 years old and this is fine for me to carry with one arm. Thanks to Jeff Genzler for recommending this cabinet. What exceptional customer service when you can call & speak to the owner for his thoughts on your personal amplification needs.
