Jimmy Hartman is a bassist and vocalist based in San Antonio, Texas. Jimmy has been touring nationally with longtime Texas Country staples, Josh Abbott Band, since 2018. The band earned their third certified RIAA Gold Record in 2024 with their song “Settle Me Down” which features Hartman on bass. Jimmy has become an in-demand session and live bassist in Central Texas, touring and recording with various notable artists including Josh Abbott Band, Texas supergroup The Panhandlers, Cory Morrow, Kyle Park, Matt Kirk & The Gueyfarers, and Del Castillo among many others. Known for his vocal harmonies and in-the-pocket playing, Jimmy has made his mark on the Texas Music Scene, getting to share the stage with legends like George Strait, Jamie Johnson, Bernard Purdie, Bruce Willis, and Director Robert Rodriguez’ band, Chingon.

My Genzler NuClassic 212 paired with the Kinetix 800 head has served me well as my main touring rig for years. It has such warmth and weight to every note and really brings out the best qualities of my Fender Precision and Jazz basses. Our FOH engineer is always blown away at how powerful the Genzler is, without being harsh, and it is always tight in the low end. From the massive production at Stagecoach, to the more intimate Ryman Auditorium, ACL Live, and Gruene Hall, Genzler always brings warmth, clarity and thump to the band. I’ve been a fan of Jeff’s work for a long time and can’t get away from that classic Genzler “tubiness”.
